Celebrating Dad

Father’s Day is right around the corner so I thought I would share some fun ideas of things to go do with Dad. I absolutely love Father’s Day because I have always loved celebrating my own Dad, but now having kids, I get to celebrate two amazing Dads. The month of June, becomes a “Dads Month” as I like to call it as we usually end up camping, fishing, or going to a baseball game almost every weekend. Tis’ the season!

It is easy to get stuck on what fun things to do for Father’s Day, especially that doesn’t cost a fortune and is “kid friendly”. Our plans to celebrate are to go up to the mountains to go camping and fishing. It is one of Garth’s absolute favorite things to go do, and now that Adelyn is so excited about catching a fish too, it just makes the whole experience so much more fun. To see the girls fishing with their Daddy, brings back some of the best memories of going fishing with my own Dad.

It is important for my husband to have great fishing shoes for the summer that are easy to put on, comfortable, can get wet, and are a somewhat “stylish” shoe that can go with his everyday casual wear. He loves these Fisherman Sandals by Crocs while he works in yard, goes to the park, and especially for his fishing trips. Real leather, an open design so they don’t get too hot, and comfortable–he doesn’t let me forget how comfortable they are as he mentions it about every 5 minutes while wearing them…

Our plans are to go camping and fishing at the lake for Father’s Day weekend and the following weekends we are going to take my Dad to a baseball game and his Dad to the farm.

Here are a list ideas of fun things to do with Dad for Father’s Day:

Lunch in the park

Water park/splash pad

Boating/fishing at the lake

Go on a hike or bike ride

Game of croquet in the backyard

Go to the movie theater/drive-in theater

Golfing/putt-putt golfing

Bbq dinner

Going to the Farm/Ranch

Baseball game

Out for dinner and dessert

The most important thing is to be together. Whether it is going golfing, fishing, or just grilling dinner in the backyard, this day is for the Dads and to show them great appreciation for all the things they do for us.

Thank you to my Dad, husband, and Father-in-Law, for your example, protection, leadership, and servant heart.“Dads are most ordinary men turned by love into heroes, adventurers, story-tellers, and singers of song.” – Pam Brown
