Tiny Love List – Zozu Baby Headbands

Day five of the series, Tiny Love List – “Bringing Home Baby”, is one of my favorite headband shops, Zozu Baby. This exceptional headband shop sells the sweetest little bows for every age especially new babies. Every bow is made by Sandy, who has such an eye for detail as every bow is perfectly made.

While these bows can be made for any age, I absolutely love the mini felt bows on Emery. They are the perfect size for a new baby’s head and are so soft.

I especially love the ability to choose from a variety of colors so that I can coordinate it to Emery’s outfits. I have to say though, my favorite color is just a classic white – it goes with everything!

Zozu Baby is also coming out with a new skinny felt bow on either your choice of an unlined clip or nylon elastic. The nylon elastic is so, so good. It is one-size fits all and it expands to fit any size of head. Babies have such soft heads that it is tough finding bows that won’t leave a mark. With the nylon elastic fitting any size of head, it doesn’t leave any marks and it the perfect fit.

How cute is the skinny felt bow?!? I am in love!

We love Zozu baby and know you will too! Stay tuned to have a chance to win shop credit to next week on Instagram!

Tiny Love List – Lucy Darling

Today, I am so excited to share with you one of my favorite items that I purchased before Emery was born. I was on the hunt to find a perfect baby book when I came across, Lucy Darling . I was immediately drawn to the feminine cover of the book and knew it would be a good fit to keep memories for my Emery Jane.

I was not disappointed when I received the book. The pages were filled with beautiful drawings of flowers and the layout of the book was exceptional. It covers every little important detail from pregnancy cravings to when your baby first smiled.

I want to remember the important things and keep a book for Emery, but as a busy mom, I don’t have hours in my day to sit and write in a baby book. This book however, takes the cake as it is well organized, clean and simple, and so easy and fun to fill out.

The Baby’s First Book has so many fun and memorable pages in it. Some of my favorite pages are: a page to write a letter to your baby before they are born, a place to put your baby’s footprints, and a page to put a photo of the house that your child grew up in.

The book also has a page for every month of baby’s life to place a photo and write all the little changes and developments that are happening. I love the floral theme of this book because it goes perfectly with the flower monthly photos I take of Emery each month.

In the back of the book are pages of “firsts” that your baby has with the option to put a photo of their “first” along with the date it happened. One of our “firsts”, was a smile I caught on camera!

Last, I love that this well thought-out book has blank pages in the back of the book to place extra photos that you want to remember or to write out memories that you don’t want forgotten.

Lucy Darling not only has beautiful baby books, but also sells monthly milestone stickers, children’s books, and artwork. I highly recommend this shop to all my mommy friends as it is such a unique, creative shop with items that are one-of-a-kind.

Are you in love with Baby’s First Book as much as I am? You will have a shot to win one of your own next Wednesday when the Tiny Love List – “Bringing Baby Home” giveaway kicks off!

Tiny Love List – Pacifier Clips

We are into day three of the series, Tiny Love List – Bringing Home Baby, with a very special pacifier clip and headband shop, Loved by Sophia Claire. This shop has so many pretty things and what I love most, all of it is handmade by the owner, Lexie.

Emery has been such a different baby than Adelyn. One large difference is that Emery takes a pacifier, while Adelyn did not. I soon realized after she was born that I would need to learn more about this “pacifier business”. What pacifiers did she like? What is the best way to clean a pacifier? And most importantly, how do I keep from losing her pacifier? That is when I found the adorable pacifier clip shop, Loved by Sophia Claire. Having Emery’s pacifier attached to a clip keeps it from dropping on the floor and having to spend time looking for it when she needs it.

These pacifier clips made by Lexie, are the perfect length as they are not too long or short. They come in multiple colors all made with beautiful faux suede leather. And best of all they are sold at a great price so you don’t have to worry about deciding what color to get – you can just stock up on them all!

Loved by Sophia Claire also sells adorable headbands made on a nylon elastic which fits any head size. I love the nylon elastic because I know that it isn’t going to leave a mark on Emery’s head as fits just perfectly on head – not too tight and not too loose.

The craftsmanship and durability of each item shows how much pride Lexie puts into every item she makes. Go take a peek at her shop and stayed tuned for your chance to win 3 pacifier clips of your choice next week!

Tiny Love List – Multi-functional Nursing Cover

Today on our Tiny Love List – Bringing Home Baby, is a product review of a multi-functional nursing cover. It comes from a shop that has some the most used and loved items I own. One of the first items I purchased before Emery was born was a beautiful car seat cover from the shop, Milk Snob.

The owner, Melanie, creates items that are an everyday necessity, with fabric that has stunning designs and the most luxurious feel. I was so excited when she came out with the multi-functional nursing cover. It has 360° coverage while nursing, but can also be used as a car seat or shopping cart cover. With Adelyn, I used a blanket to nurse in public, which never stayed put and she was constantly pulling it off. I am ecstatic to now own a cover that I will not have to worry about any of these things happening in public.

This nursing cover is made of soft, breathable fabric that is great for nursing in the summer months. I love that it is adjustable at the neck allowing you to decide if you want the cover around your shoulders or neck.

What I love most about this nursing cover? The modern and stylish look it gives as you wear it. The grey is my favorite color choice as it goes with anything you are wearing, and gives the look of a great-added accessory.

This nursing cover needs to be on your must-have list, as it can assist you in so many different ways as a mother. Nursing in public, covering an icky shopping cart, and protecting your little one from the sun or harsh weather. I know it will continue to be one of the most used baby items I own many years to come. Stay tuned for a giveaway next week for your chance to win something from this fabulous shop!

Tiny Love List – Freshly Picked

This month, I am kicking off a series on my blog called, Tiny Love List, where I will be sharing a few of my favorite products on the blog and ending with a giveaway of all the products reviewed. Now becoming a mommy of two, I have a better idea of products that are a must-have and ones that I could have done without. This months theme is: “Bringing Home Baby” as I share some of my must-haves for newborns from some amazing shops that we love to support.

Headband//Bloomers//Crib Moccs

I feel honored to start this series with one of our favorite products that we have used and loved for the last couple of years: Freshly Picked. I can list many reasons why we love our Freshly Picked moccasins, especially as Adelyn has owned a pair from size 1 to her current size 5.

  • Great for beginner walkers
  • They never fall off
  • Easy to put on and a great shoe to teach your child how to put their shoes on
  • Easy to take off
  • Lightweight and durable
  • Stretch a bit to fit for a longer period of time
  • Many colors to choose from

I still remember the first pair I bought for Adelyn, size 1 in the color copper, and I can’t wait for Emery to be able to wear them again soon. However, Adelyn didn’t fit into her size 1 moccasins until she was about 4 or 5 months old. I remember thinking; I wish there were a smaller size for her to fit into the first couple of months. Then came crib mocs, right as I found out I was pregnant with Emery.

Freshly Picked has recently introduced the crib mocs, size 0. I was so excited to purchase a pair for Emery to wear with her going home outfit. So here are some reasons why we love the crib moccs and why they need to be on your bringing home baby list.

A Shoe From the Start

I love that Emery has been able to wear a pair of shoes that fit from the moment she was born. They were just a little big on her at first, but now at almost 3 months she has been wearing them almost every day and still fits into them. They are also made with softer leather than the larger sizes which I love as I put her sweet little feet into them.

Photo Props

I loved finding shoes that matched Emery’s going home outfit, and as I take photos of her now that she’s growing it’s fun to add this cute shoe to accessorize. The size 0 pair of shoes can also be a fun way to announce you are expecting, a gender reveal, or even to use as a prop with your maternity photos.

A Keepsake

I will always treasure her first pair of shoes that she wore and they will be a great keepsake to put in her memory box. My mother still has her first pair of shoes, which happen to be a pair of tiny moccasins, and she loves to get them out to show my sister and me. Holding onto your first pair of shoes is a great tradition to keep in the family.

Better Than Socks

Crib moccasins don’t fall off like socks do. I have a hard time finding socks that will keep Emery’s feet warm and also stay on. Instead, I have just been putting her crib moccasins on her because they have an elastic band that holds the shoe perfectly on her tiny feet. They keep her feet warm in cold weather while not overheating her feet in the heat.

Multiple Colors

I love that crib moccasins seem to be becoming more popular as Freshly Picked continues to add more colors to this line of shoes. For the price, you can’t go wrong with buying a few pairs to go with all those adorable newborn outfits. I absolutely love the new colors, rose gold, cashmere, and salt water taffy, that were just added.

Freshly Picked has created a shoe that can grow with your child from the start. These moccasins will always be a favorite for both of my girls as they go through their fun stages of life – from birth to rolling, to crawling, to walking, and to running and climbing. We will always love our Freshly Picked moccasins.

Want to win a pair of Freshly Picked moccasins of your choice? Follow along with the rest of my series, Tiny Love List – Bringing Home Baby, to win a pair next week!

How to With Two – Keeping a Toddler Busy

How to, with two? I am still no expert on this subject. However, with each day I feel like I gain a little more confidence as we get into more of a routine. Obviously a newborn does not have a set schedule, so we have to go with the flow some days, and really that’s okay! I’m loving my time at home with my girls and all the memories that we are making together this summer.

For the first post in this series, I thought I would share some summer activities that we have done so far this summer. My first piece of advice to mamas that are expecting their second child, is to try to plan an activity with your older child to give them a little of your undivided attention. When I am able to do a one-on-one activity with Adelyn, I notice that her behavior and temperament is so much better than if I don’t.

Activities planned don’t need to involve a lot of work, but I do recommended to try to know what you are going to do with your older child the day before. On Sundays, I write down a few things that I can do with Adelyn throughout the week, so that I can be more prepared. They can be simple activities such as: play-doh, painting/coloring, playing with tubs of water, blowing bubbles, chalk, dancing to toddler tunes, a picnic outside, or even baking cookies together.

Here are a few fun activities that Adelyn and I have done this Spring/Summer! I hope these might give you some ideas for things to do with your little ones!

Tea Parties with Animal Friends

Playing with Flour

Materials: plastic tablecloth, flour, plastic toys or cups

Indoor Picnic

Save this activity for a rainy day.

Water Beads

Materials: water beads, large tub, sand toys, and fine motor tools.

If all else fails, we run to the library!

I hope a few of these activities can help if you have a busy toddler like I do! Keeping her busy has helped so much as we transitioned to two children.

What are some of your favorite activities to do with your toddler?

Tiny Love Library – June Favorites

Reading is one of our favorite things to do around here. I believe it’s the teacher in me, but I absolutely love nothing more than finding a new, beautiful children’s book to read and display.

It has been a dream come true having children and being able to share my love of reading with them. I am so thankful that Adelyn loves to sit a read a book with either her daddy or I. Not only is it great one-on-one time with her, but also a time we can find mini-lessons in books to teach her new things.

I love to change her wall of books each month to sometimes fit a theme or holiday. They are added decoration in her room and become the “special” books that we read together all month long.

Here are our June favorites. Adelyn is in her first dance class, so this month’s theme was mostly dancing books with a few feminine favorites added. Her favorite though? Flo and Wendell, because these funny doggies remind her of her of our dog, Bay.

Uni the Unicorn / I Had a Favorite Dress / Just Being Audrey

Flo and Wendell / Flora and the Flamingo / Chasing Degas

Sylvie / Julia, Child / Tallulah’s Tutu

Miss Lina’s Ballerinas / Belinda the Ballerina /Olivia and the Fairy Princess

What are some of your favorite current reads with your child?

Make sure to check my Instagram page as I am giving away your choice of book from this months Tiny Love Library.

Our Newborn Photos

I believe that newborn photos are some of the most treasured photos that you can have professional taken. I love how they show the newness, the sleepiness, and the tiny details that should always be remembered. For our photos we were blessed to work with, LyndseyLew Photography . After sending her a few ideas and giving her Emery’s nursery colors, she was able to capture the most beautiful photos of the girls. I loved working with Lyndsey and her attention to every detail. I mean, a photographer that can catch a 14-day-old newborn’s smile on camera has a ton of talent.

I am no expert on having photos taken, but we have had our photos taken a few times that I thought I would share some tips with you.

Plan Ahead – When you have your photoshoot scheduled, start looking around for ideas so that you can order outfits and props. A few too many times I waited last minute to look for ideas and to have anything shipped, would’t have made it in time. My favorite prop I ordered was a feather crown for each of the girls.

Give Yourself Time – A few times we’ve been running out the door half ready to get our photos done. I knew with two babes that I would need even more time than usual and then some. Making sure to have all your props and outfits ready the night before can save time in the morning. Feeling stressed can sometimes be shown in your photos and babies can pick up the feeling as well. Try to make getting ready as relaxed and calm as possible.

Be Prepared for Sibling Shots – Photos with two are a game changer. Lyndsey was so patient and kind with our girls, which helped a lot. To help start the morning with a calm vibe, we gave the girls a bath. We also made sure to pack lots of snacks and things for Adelyn to do as baby sister was getting her photos done. Last, be patient when getting sibling photos done. We played peekaboo behind Lynsdey with Adelyn. It made her smile and look at the camera. Win, win.

Most of all have fun, don’t stress, and know that the moments that you are capturing behind the camera will be cherished forever.

Month 1 & 2 Love List

My little Emery Jane just turned 2 months and has made a few fun changes in the last month. She is now weighing 13 pounds and is such a sweet little butterball. Oh, how I love some cheeks and thigh rolls on a baby. She is starting to come around on her baths, as the first month she was not happy when we gave her one. Emery found her sweet little hands and loves to chew on them. She also started sleeping through the night which calls for a huge, “Yahoo!”, when having to care for two babes. It is so fun to go through all the fun changes that a baby takes in the first year again. Emery Jane you are a total dreamboat and we just love you.

One of the perks of having another baby is being able to know what is necessary and what isn’t. After having Adelyn I had a better idea of what things we needed for Emery, while also finding a few other new things we love! Here is what I found necessary for baby #2 during the first 2 months.

1//2//3//4//5//

6//7//8//9

1. Swaddles are a must have with newborns and these are incredibly soft. Whats even better? They get softer by each wash AND they help her sleep through the night. These are also great for the summer months because they are light weight and breathable.

2. My favorite diapers with Adelyn are the Honest company diapers and still are with Emery. Very absorbent, eco-friendly, and oh, so cute.

3. The 4Moms Mamaroo infant seat is a dream come true. It sways just as a mom would. Especially with two kids. It is the reason many mornings that I am able to even take a shower. That is a huge win in my book.

4. Emery loves this pacifier. She is still learning how to hold her pacifier in, and this one helps hold it in her mouth. I also love how she holds onto the animal with her chubby little hands when she sleeps.

5. The Ollie Swaddle is an instant calmer. Emery has nights where she is more fussy than usual and just wrapping her in this swaddle instantly calms her down.

6. The Rock n Play Sleeper is what she sleeps in right now at night. With her still being in our room, it can fit right next to my side of the bed and is easy to move from room to room during the day.

7. The Nosefrida Snotsucker  sounds gross, but works so much better than the bulbs. Emery had quite a bit of congestion the first month and this helped a ton.

8. We used this bathtub with Adelyn and it is still a favorite with Emery. It is great for using on the sink or in the bathtub and is one that babies can grow into as it can be used all the way up to 2 years of age.

9. Babies nails can be tough to cut and these worked well with Adelyn and I continue to recommend them as great clippers.

What were some of your must haves the first couple of months?

Introducing Emery Jane

As my first blog post, I thought it would be fitting to introduce our newest tiny love, Emery Jane. This video is a dream come true and will be treasured for many, many years. Liz Osban Photography made this beautiful video and I couldn’t be more thrilled of how it turned out. My idea came for the video while I was pregnant with Emery and was thinking about bringing her home. Our home is special to me as it was built by my husband. As we pray together as a family in this home, I know that it has a continual presence of the Lord. I wanted a video of bringing our new tiny love into our home to remember how its serene feel calms and brings peace to our babies. More than anything I wanted a video to show our family in the home that we will love and raise our sweet girls.
